week 10

I have learned how to factor the “ugly trinomials” which is the last letter in CDPEU.

forexample

first, check if there any Common? is it Difference of squares? is it the proper pattern? ist Easy? is it hard (Ugly)

ITS Ugly

So we multiply the coefficient and the last number to get 28 that add to -3 and find all of the numbers that multiply to 28 and since 3 is negative we need more positive than negatives.

Then,

we use the Area model. we put 2x (squared) at the top left and -14 at the bottom right
and we put the circled numbers at the  empty spot (does not matter were to put them)

then we find what multiplies the numbers

and the factor is (x+2)(2x-7)
