Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones from the story of “Thank you Ma’am” is a very caring and experienced person.

Mrs. Jones shows that she’s a caring person when she told the boy to be her son.

When Mrs. Jones took the boy home instead of calling the police.

While at the dark street, Mrs. Jones says,

“You ought to be my son. I would teach you right or wrong. Least I could do right now is to wash your face.Are you hungry?”(pg. 11).

Mrs. Jones kept him and did not call the police because she knew that the boy has a reason why he tried to stole her pocketbook and she bring her to her house and they started talking until the she gave the boy money to buy the shoes and she taught her lesson.

 

 

 

Mrs. Jones is also an experienced person.

when she tells the boy that she did some things in her life.

While in her house Mrs. Jones says,

“I’ve done things too, which I would not tell you, son-neither tell god, if he didn’t know already”

It proves that Mrs. Jones is also experienced and that she also done some bad thing when she was young.
