Please return Harry Potter books!
Please bring your Harry Potter novels back to class tomorrow, Friday, 17 June 2016. We will still use the books in class, but you will not be able to take them home anymore.
You will need to make sure you bring back the book with the number you were assigned. We will sign them in tomorrow at the beginning of class.
EAL Skills: TEST TOMORROW!!! (On Wednesday, 15 June 2016)
Your test on Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is TOMORROW! It will start right at 9:00am, and you will need to wait outside of the classroom.
Remember the times we would stop to take notes – they were often on big ideas in the story. Think also about the times I might have said something like “Hmmmm what a great question this would be on a test…”
Good luck, everyone!
Friday, 10 June 2016: EAL Skills Reading Homework
Please finish reading the end of Chapter 15: “The Forbidden Forest” for class on Monday, 13 June 2016. The Quiz on this part of the novel will begin promptly at 9:00am on Monday. This is pages 254-261.
Please remember to look up words you do not know – it is always okay to translate them while you are reading! Some people also like to read with a dictionary if you feel like challenging yourself to find English explanations for the word.
Have a good weekend!
Wednesday, 8 June 2016: Homework! (EAL Skills)
Monday, 6 June 2016: Homework!

EAL Skills Plays Quidditch!
Since we are reading through Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, we decided to practice our reading comprehension by reading the rules of Quidditch in order to see if we could follow how to play! Thanks to the PE Department for letting borrow hoops and balls to be our quaffle, golden snitch, and scoring hoops. Everyone did a great job!
