This week in math 10 I learned how to find and solve an equation using the y intercept form and the general form.
The formula for y intercept form is y=mx+b. The first number in a coordinate is always the x and the second number is always the y. I put the y on the left side and put the x and the b which is 2 on the other, separating them so that I can leave y by itself later.
Then I just added 4 to both sides of the equation to get y by itself, it wouldn’t make sense to add it to 6x because there is a variable, you should add it to -12 and you should get y=6x-8
For the general form:
So, in the general form there is absolutely no fractions. I multiplied by -4 on both sides to get rid of the denominator and then simplified it.
In general form everything is on one side, so what I did is bring -4y and 12 to the other side by doing the opposite operations on them , you should get zero if you did it right and you should have the general/pretty form.
