Reflection
This assignment was very interesting for my group. We were kind of disorganized and we were just researching on our own with no plan for a while, but it worked out because while I was looking more at statistics and the gaps between Indigenous and non-Indigenous health, my other group members were finding things like stories from Indigenous people about how terrible the healthcare system for them was. The script took longer to write than I would have liked though. This wasn’t my first time with Audacity, but I was still a little unfamiliar with using it.
Reflection – Critical Thinking
How does your artifact tie in with what you have learned before? How has your thinking changed? What made it change?
This ties in with the assignments we had to do in Social Studies 9 last semester, like when we were learning about colonization, which we talked about in our audio podcast how it lead to diseases being exposed to Indigenous people. My thinking has changed during this project because I wasn’t very aware of the differences of health between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. I knew the gap existed but I didn’t really know how big the gap was before this.

Thank you for posting your “Indigenous Exploration” audio project (podcast). As the assignment was completed for both English 9 and COL, I have the following feedback for you on the post:
– All elements of the assignment’s post were properly uploaded
– Reflection on blog is somewhat limited and could have been further developed
– Somewhat clear audio and delivery despite background noise
– Background music was a nice touch
– Podcast is completed although shorter than minimum length required (more content needed)
Overall, this assignment had some strong characteristics, while some areas could have been improved upon. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thank you!
