The person I interviewed is my father, who is an accountant. When I was very young, I dreamed of being the same person like him when I grew up. The following is a transcript of the conversation(J for me an F for my father):

J:Hi, may I ask you some questions?

F: Sure, go ahead.

J: The first question, why are you passionate about your
job or role?

F: Since my uncle is engaged in this field, I have been yearning for accountants since my childhood.

J: Thanks, the second question is what obstacles have you faced to
get you where you are today?

F: Because of the rapid development of the national economic situation, new knowledge is becoming more and more. If we do not supplement knowledge in time, we will be eliminated by The Times, which is a serious problem we are facing.

J: Ok, the next question is what advice would you pass on
to someone interested in what
you are doing?

F: The first point is to study more, read more books, communicate with the outside world more, improve their knowledge reserve. The second point is to work down-to-earth, continuous innovation.

J: That really helpful, and I would like to ask what is the usual work content of accountants.

F: Our basic work is making statements, analyzing data, accounting, and so on.

J: I see, may I ask a general idea of your salary level?

F: The average annual salary for an entry-level accountant in Canada is $45,000 (pre-tax), which can rise to $53,000 in a short period of time with the increase in inexperience. When you have enough experience in the field, your average annual salary will rise to $90,000 – $1000001.

J: Ok, final question, Would you be open to further contact from Riverside students
contact you?

F: Of course.

J: That is great, how can someone contact you?

F: The students can send their questions to me at this email address: Jennyzhang8100@gmail.com

J: Thank you for your cooperation, these answers are very helpful.

F: You are welcome, it is my pleasure.

According to this conversation, I learned some habits, such as perseverance if you want to reach the goal, don’t care about others’ opinions, and strive to be yourself and move forward towards your goal.

DIGITAL FOOTPRINT

How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities? Give at least two examples.
I think the digital footprint will affect our future study and life in university and future work. This thing will stay with us for the rest of our lives, like a resume.

Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.

1.Try to avoid using software that may pose a risk of privacy leaks, and be cautious about using software developed by small companies. Don’t enter personal privacy information in it.

2..Do not enter personal details, such as real name, ID number, etc., on any website. Do not expose your real IP address.

3.Think twice before Posting. If you don’t want someone to see your article, then don’t publish it, because sooner or later someone else will.

What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them?

I learned how to protect myself online, how to protect my privacy, and what technology is. We can teach others by giving speeches or writing books about this knowledge.
