Week 1 – prime number

In the first week of math class, we started learning about prime number.

Prime number is whole number which has exactly two factors. For example, these are the list of first ten prime numbers: 2,3,5,7,11,13,17,19,23,29.

We also learned about expressing a whole number as a product of prime factors which is called the prime factorization of number.

We can find the prime factorization of number by using 2 different ways – a division table or a tree diagram. You can use both of them to find the prime factorization of number, or the one that you’re more comfortable with.

Math9 review

This is a BEDMAS equation that contains 4fractions (1/2,1/2,3/6,2/6) and 3 operators (+,×,-)

To solve the equation, we first started with multiplying 1/2 by 3/6 because our equation didn’t contain any brackets, exponents, or divisions. Then we re-wrote the fractions to 1/2 + 3/12 – 2/6 on the second line, and then we multiplied 1/2 by 6 and 2/6 by 2 in order to get the same denominators. After that, we had fractions with same denominators and we just had to subtract and add them all which became 6/12+3/12-4/12=5/12

I think the most successful about this project was that I got to know better about life of Irish before their Immigration and after while writing the journal. Although I already learned these stuffs with the class, as I got to choose which country to write the journal, I searched up many information with more details and I understood how hard and difficult their life was.

One thing that I would like to change is some errors on my paragraphs.
