During this week, we started the polynomial unit.Although most of them looked familiar from what I’ve learned from grade 9, I still got to know a lot of things about polynomials.
We learned about monomial(1term), bonimial(2terms), trinomial(3terms), polynomial(4 or more terms), degree of a monomial- the sum of the exponents of its variable and degree of a polynomial which is the degree of the term with highest degree.
We also learned how to add polynomials and multiply a polynomial by a monomial by drawing tiles and by using FOIL. FOIL stands for –
First term in each bracket, Outside terms, Inside terms, Last term in each bracket. – (a+b)(c+d) = ac+ad+bc+bd
