This week we started our new unit on Absolute Values.
The absolute value of a real number is defined as the principal square root of the square root of the square of a number. or The absolute value of a real number is the distance from zero on a number line.
|x| The two lines in a math equation represent the absolute value representation.
For example: |-6| = 6
But you can also have expressions inside the lines.
-| – |
-|- 7| –> Now you find the absolute value of -7
