Government Responsibility

Todays government should be held responsible for the decisions and actions that were previously made by past governments. These actions/decisions, although made in the past not the present still represent the government. The Canadian governments morals and goals are all the same and although they make changes to the leaders and the people the government itself doesn’t change.  The present government may apologize and try to move on from events but it does not change what has happened in the past and the events will not be forgotten. Many governments build new ideas, principles and rules, however, the base does not change. What makes the government is not being improved upon therefore todays government should be held responsible if they are not improving their system.

In addition, todays government should not be held responsible because the people involved today had no say. They were not there, nor where they directing it meaning they could not have changed or influenced past decisions. New people come in and take past places which brings forth new ideas and options to improve the government. The present government should not be held accountable for all previous actions, decisions and events that took place because they were not involved and could not have changed that in any way. They have apologized for things said in the past but cannot go back to change it. The most that they can do now is make sure not to repeat those mistakes and strengthen the current government.

I believe that although many things happened that the government could be held responsible for they should not be bombarded with every mistake made in the past. They cannot go back to change the past or influence it in any way. They can, however, make sure they do not repeat these events/actions and ensure that we have a strong, fair government who does not discriminate in any way. They should be held somewhat responsible but as I mentioned they cant change or fix it. It should not be something we forget but something we approve upon for the future.
