Week 3 Math 10

Negative Exponents.

This week in Class we were learning the basics about negative exponents. Going into it I thought it would be extremely tough, turns out math with negative exponents is easy then positive ones!

I am going to show you step by step how to solve an equation with negative exponents:

8x^{^-3}

So, really 8x^{^-3} is,

Which then to get the exponent positive you move it to look like. And because the base is x, x moves with it.

And that’s your final answer! Easy right?

We will do another one, 12a^{^-5} . It really looks like,

But we flip the negative to make it positive,

You can not simplify, so there is your final answer.
