(This tableau shows a Tragedy where someone is killed)
Bard on the Beach was a presentation to help students in English learn about the basics of Shakespeare. I really enjoyed that Ian and Kayla tried to make the whole class as productive as possible by making us perform various Shakespeare stories in the form of tableau and a few acting . I also liked how the class gets to participate in plays instead of watching them, and that Ian and Kayla made the presentation fun and informative at the same time. Although there are many things I liked in this presentation, there were also elements in the presentation dislike such as the warm up, because even though it was fun, it was not relative to Shakespeare and that it took a long time. I learned many things about Shakespeare after the presentation like how most of his plays uses a peculiar tone. I also learned many points of the play “Much Ado About Nothing” because the class mostly focused on it. Shakespeare used plenty genres in his plays including tragedy, romance, comedy, and history. Tragedy is meant to express extreme emotions because it includes death, violence and loss. Romance is not always about love because it also includes magic and superpowers. History consists of Time Periods. Comedy includes wedding, irony and it uses light topics. During the presentation, the class focused on a play,”Much Ado About Nothing”. The class learns the meaning of the play which is worrying about gossip.
