Interphase

-There is a nucleus with chromatin inside and a cell membrane. During the interphase, DNA is copied.

MITOSIS

Prophase

– Replicated DNA molecules join together to form sister chromatids.

– Add small strings to the cell, 4 at each end, to represent the spindle fibres.

– Attach strings from either end of the cell to one of the sister chromosomes.

– Remove nucleus.IMG_0912

Metaphase

– Chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell.

Anaphase

– Untie the sister chromatids and move the 2 halves of each chromosome away from each other to opposite sides of the cell.

Telophase

-Spindle fibers disapear.

-2 nuclear membranes are formed.

Cytokinesis

-Cell divides into 2.
