Winston from “1984”

Winston smith is a government worker who lives in Oceania on Airstrip 1. He works in the manitruth building he does not like big brother. He has a diary that he writes. He is a basic man and does not like women. We now learned that Winston remembers his mother and sister but not to well In his memory. Due to the movie, he saw his mother and his sister sinking in the water going further and further down. We now have confirmed that he wants to engage in sexual activity with Julia. Every morning at 7:15 he gets woken up by the telescreen to start doing his morning exercises. He believes that big brother is rewriting history to make it seem like it has been around for a while. Winston remembers London and Great Britain before it became Airstrip 1.

Winston is described as “a smallish, frail figure, the meagreness of his body merely emphasized by the blue overalls which were the uniform of the party” (Orwell 4)
