Setting Chapter 5 Practice – “1984”

“1984” is written by George Orwell it has physical and emotional setting. Physical setting is where the story takes place, date, time, location, physical features, adjectives, and weather. Emotional setting is the mood and atmosphere of the story. “ a few thoughtless people commented on his absence” pg 158. It is emotional setting because he they were confused or concerned about Symes absence. “The weather was baking hot” pg 158. It is physical because one of the things that make a physical setting is weather.
