Grammar video project “Phrases(introductory), sentence fragment, and complete sentences”

Introductory phrases do not have their own subject and verb. an introductory phrase usually would rely on the subject and/or verb of the clause. These phrases will usually hint at what is about to happen in the next few sentences of the story. Sentence fragments are like incomplete sentences. They are usually pieces of sentences which have been taken away from the main clause of a story and are missing either a verb or subject. A complete sentence is like the opposite of the Introductory phrase. It has its own verb, and it has its own subject, and it does not need anything to rely on“I walk to school every morning” is a complete sentence because it has a verb and a subject. The verb in the sentence is “walk” and the subject is walking to school every day. “The tall tree, the one that I loved to climb” is a sentence fragment because it has no verb for the subject of the tree. “In the meantime, there was a car.” The introductory phrase in this small sentence is “in the meantime” because it does not have a subject and/or verb in it.
