Current from the kitchen Pre Lab and results

Purpose:

which fruit will produce the most electric voltage.

Hypothesis:

The fruit that will produce the most electric voltage will be a lemon when trying other fruits.

Materials:

goggles, 1 voltmeter, 2 wires, 1 nail, 1 copper strip, at least 3 fruits

Procedure:

put the nail in fruit

put copper in fruit

hook up wires to nail and copper then put onto voltmeter

Reasoning:

The reason I think that the lemon will produce the most electric volts is because of the citric acid.

Conclusion:

My hypothesis was correct. My hypothesis was that the lemon will put out the most electric volts. Compared to the other fruits you could see the difference very clear.

Results:

Lemon 2 volts

Apple 1.5 volts

orange 1.5 volts

questions:

the independent variable is how much volts come out of the fruit

the dependent variable is the nails and the copper wire.

The two controlled variables are the fruit we use and how much of the fruit we use

the way we could have modified this experiment is that we use full fruits instead of slices of fruit one because of the mess and we would get more power

what would be a source of error is that we used the fruit a lot and some of the fruits got squished so an error is that we destroyed the fruits so after the 4 used of the fruit someone else couldn’t use because the fruit was cut in half or slices so all the juices came out.

how u would use this in your everyday life is charged ur phone, won’t be very fast may take a while to even get 1 percent tho.

Fictional Science Safety Story

One day little Demetrius Demarcus Bartholomew James the third junior went to science class. He had his first lab today. He was really nervous because he didn’t want to burn himself alive. The reason he thinks that is because he is not the most sturdy person. Just this morning he fell down the stairs because he got toilet paper stuck on his foot and tripped on it and fell down the stairs. So he gets to class and sits down. He was the first one sitting down, he thought the class smelt funny. It smelt like gas. but he just ignored it, 1 reason is he loves the smell of gas. When the teacher got here he asked Demetrius Demarcus Bartholomew James the third junior if he smelled gas? He said yes and that he loves the smell. The teacher got him out of the class then realized he didn’t give the safety lesson yet and so after he cleans out the gas smell he shows the students all the safety equipment.  After the gas is all cleaned up The teacher showed the class all the safety equipment. First the fire extinguisher, eyewash station, Fire Blanket, Emergency shut off, and Emergency shower. He told the students each use. The fire extinguisher he used for fires is not on a human. Eyewash station for when u get chemicals in your eyes, even though you should have safety goggles on at all times. The fire blanket is used for when u get fire on clothes so get a friend to hug you with the fire blanket. Emergency shut off is used when something gets out of hand and needed to be turned off right away. An emergency is also when you get fire on your clothes so you can either use the fire blanket or the Emergency shower but depends where you are. Then showed the class 2 WHMIS symbols that are in the classroom. The first one was the compressed gas and the second one was the Flammable and combustible materials. So the teacher has explained everything and so the class gets to work. Demarcus starts working with the candles but he drops them on his clothes he starts panicking and yells for the teacher and since it was a small candle it didn’t spread that quick so the teacher had enough time to help him. So Demetrius Demarcus Bartholomew James the third junior learned that he needs to learn to be safer and that if something does happen he will be okay.

Climate change has been a big problem for many years. there are many problems that are happening, the main problem that il focus on is the ice caps. In the artic, a lot of the ice is melting and we’re losing a lot of animal species including polar bears and penguins. So the plan is to keep them alive for many generations longer.

Discover:

The melting ice caps have been looked over by many scientists. they have come up with many solutions but a lot of them are very pricy.  But there are two ideas that pop out for me. One is the submarine that takes the water and refreezes it into a giant ice hexagon. This one is to help refreeze the artic the next is to take the heat off of the artic. this one is to put little glass beads to reflect the sunlight of the ice caps.

Dream:

  • refreeze the artic
  • stop hit from melting
  • save species of animals that live in the artic
  • keep the arctic cold
  • Stop sea level rising and flood

Something that I could have done better is the Dream. I could have thought of more end solutions for the problem. Another thing that I could have done is describe my invention better and to be more clear when talking. And describe the problem better in the video and writing.

Climate in Canada

Canadian prairies will have many effects from Climate change. If we don’t do anything part of the prairies won’t be farmable anymore. According to the federal government, in 2018 Canada’s agriculture and agri-food system made $143 billion which is 7.4 percent of the country’s GDP. Lots of people have shared flatten crops from the effects of the heat from climate change. Another big problem is that there are gonna be a lot more forest fires. The forest is gonna go dry just as much as the water holes.

Here are the 7 stages of the cell cycle

Stage 1 of the cell cycle is called the interphase. The interphase is also the longest stage of the cell cycle. The interphase is when a cell carries out various functions within the organism.

Stage 2 of the cell cycle is called the early prophase. what happens in the early prophase is that the replicated chromosomes coil up into x-shaped chromosomes. the nucleus will disappear.

Stage 3 of the cell cycle is called the late prophase. what happens here is that the spindle fibers complete forming and connect to the center of the chromosomes.

stage 4 of the cell cycle is called the metaphase. what happens in the metaphase is the all the chromosomes line up in a straight line across the middle from the pulling of the spindle fibers.

Stage 5 of the cell cycle is called the Anaphase. what happens in anaphase is that the spindle fibers pulls the centromeres apart.

the 6 stage of the cell cycle is called telophase. In the telophase, the spindle fibers start to disappear. And a membrane forms around each set of chromosomes.

Stage 7 of the cell cycle is called cytokinesis. what happens here is that the cytokinesis separated the 2 nuclei into two daughter cells. The two cells are identical to the original parent’s cells.
