The human ideology of life is originally based on survival of the fittest and how high on the social pyramid one climbs.  People have morals and goals they desire to reach one day and sometimes a quote or motto is their most adamant aspiration. “A lack of empathy for the humanity of people different from oneself.” A quote I have chosen from the devaluing humanities writing. When reading this quote, I have really come to the recognition that when one individual has their opinion either positive or negative, they will devaluate another person’s viewpoint. Humans have learned awfully well how to be cruel to one another when they have different standpoints in arguments. A quote from the dead poet’s society “Now we all have a great need for acceptance, but you must trust that your beliefs are unique, your own, even though others may think them odd or unpopular, even though the herd may go, “that’s b – – a – – d.” This exact quote will symbolize how some people live their life inside a shell fearing getting accepted, but sometimes what you need to do is go outside that shell.  When someone fears that who they are doesn’t fit the ‘norms’ it makes them feel down and hopeless about who they are as an individual. From the life lessons which I have gone and struggled through, being confident starts with you being confident in yourself.  The world is rapidly going into peril as we sit on our chairs but what we can do now is try and better ourselves with the mindsets we build each day.  Wars, disagreements, and fights are exactly the things to fear but at the same time, you must keep your mind straight and not let it affect your mindset in a toxic way.  The quotes which I have gotten from the article, as well as the DPS video, really impacted me as a person myself and made me realize a little more on how severely people’s opinions can hinder our own at times.  DPS has shown me that poetry and love live within and that writing is a language of itself that can express so many emotions and feelings.
