SONNET

I can’t believe I’m actually here.

Standing in amazement, I’m on Sixth Street!

I go in Barney’s and look at headgear.

Maybe I should get something with some heat.

I’m so happy, this feeling can’t be beat.

I go to all the parks and see all the views.

I text my friends and found a place to meet.

Later, we’re going to be on a cruise.

I bought a hotdog, the bun was whole-wheat

Wow, this is the best hotdog I’ve ever ate.

I think I forgot to get my receipt.

Well, at least the hotdog is really great.

I’m almost too where I’m meeting my friends.

I see them, time to hang till the week ends.

Life Of A Gene Mutation

Part 1:

My host is a young boy named Tyler. As a gene, my story on my mutation was that I was changing, everyone had trouble accepting the new me as it was just so different from what i used to be. It seemed to be common at the time everyone was changing, the new trend got popularized fast through out the cells.. Maybe even altered. For Tyler he was feeling weaker he had trouble walking, he was getting pain in his arms and legs, muscle cramps and slurred speech. He went to see his doctor with his mom to see what was going on. He got told that he had contracted ALS which is a familial disease which he most likely contracted from his grandfather who also had it. He was confused and asked the doctor how it happens. The doctor told him his cells we’re altered with the mutation of it along with putting his genes in a autosomal dominant pattern, which he told was, you only need one copy of the altered gene in each cell to contract the disease. I felt Tyler appreciate life more after he contracted ALS as he knew he wouldn’t be this strong forever, and went out to do everything on his bucket list while enjoying the time he had with his family and friends, but he also was very mad that his happened to him, he felt like all his friends would go on to do great things with their lives and he’d just die. He is trying his best to make something of himself with the time he has left and making sure to enjoy life while it lasts.

Part 2:

1. The questions I had to learn we’re:

What happens to the genes during ALS

How do you contract ALS

What are the symptoms of ALS

2. I really only researched the information and didn’t use any new tools as I worked through this project.

3. I used google, which gave me a lot of different places with different information and stories of people with ALS.

4. I verified by checking multiple websites to make sure my information was correct and precise. I cited the websites by putting the citations down below.

5.I think I could’ve gone into more detail about Tyler and what he was doing to enjoy his life and try to make something of himself before its to late.

Science Stop Motion Collaboration Fluency Project

This is the link to the stop motion video:

Collaboration fluency:

1.We had strength’s with some people having creative ideas for the project. We also had people who knew how to edit, and do the voice over. We got strength’s in plenty with everyone having different ideas and different types of creativity which helped in the project.

2.I edited, me and Patrick made the clay sculptures, Eva moved around the sculptures to create the stop motion while we made what we would need next for the stop motion. I also did the voice over for the project with help from the notes.

3.We want to meet deadlines, try to make sure the work is equal and have everyone having fun and working together while doing the project. We want to make sure we have everything and try our bests to get the highest marks possible.

4.I feel we’d have a problem and it would be more difficult to get a good mark or finish the project if these rules aren’t followed.

5.I don’t have questions. I understand the requirements of the project.

6.Our goals is to meet the deadline and acquire a good mark while also having fun together while doing the project.

7.The final outcome will look like a fluid movie with a voice over to describe whats happening. Information that is needed are what happens during each phase along with the order of phases.

8.Day 1 would be planning, Day 2-3 Would be taking pictures, Day 4 would be editing and day 5  would be finishing any loose ends.

Je réponds à la question:  Quelle est la différence entre éduquer et enseigner? Pensez-vous que le système scolaire devrait seulement enseigner aux élèves et non pas les éduquer?

Science App Review

Solution Fluency

Define: Problem is that we need to figure out the intensity.

Questions: How many volts do we have? How much resistance do we have?

Dream: What could I do if I had something to figure out the intensity?

It could help me by letting me complete the question.

Design/Delivery: My plan is to use this website to complete the question by using it to help me figure our the intensity.

Debrief: I could’ve improved my plan by having the website, ready before I start the question.

I reviewed the app Ohm’s Law 1.3.4. It is a helpful science app on the Phet simulations website. You might be asking: How useful it is and what can it do to help me pass grade 9 science. Ever think that calculating intensity is hard in a equation? Well this application will help you do the equation in a more fun way! It helps you in the electricity course to calculate voltage by using the I=V/R equation. You can choose the amount of voltage and resistance which will give you how much intensity you will get with that amount of voltage and resistance. I went through the app testing around and it’s basically just a fun way of doing your science homework. It makes the equation easier to do and in such a fun way! I went through doing all my voltage/resistance questions with it to figure out intensity and I think it really helped me and was faster and more fun than any other way.

The pros of this application:

It’s fun. Easy to use. Helps you with your homework. I mean what can’t it do! You can figure out the Intensity of most questions in a fast, easy and best of all, fun way! It also has really great sound effects whenever your pulling a lever to change the amount of volts or resistance.

The cons of this application:

You can only go to 1000 Resistance/Ohms or 9V/6 1.5V batters. But, other than those 2 limitations there isn’t anything to complain aboutadl16-review-pictures

This tool is easy to use and doesn’t really need any explication as all you need to do is change the number of amps and resistance to see how much intensity/amps you get. It does nothing to help you if you’re confused, but I’m sure you’ll figure out how to use it fairly quickly. The app helps you understand how much volts and resistance can create how much intensity/amps. It teaches you the amount of intensity that can be created from volts and resistance of different amounts of your choosing. It also helps you understand the equation as with this you’ll now that volts = intensity/amps but resistance will lower the amount of Intensity/amps, which means V/R= I. It completely helps you understand the equation. It’s a pretty innovative app as it shows a circuit below with the amount of batterys which give off the amount of voltage and shows how much voltage each battery is giving. It also shows how many volts are in the Red Sphere which is where all the voltage is going after getting resisted by the wires which I feel is something that isn’t shown much. adl16-review-pictures

Well that’s my review on the Ohm’s Law app on the phet simulator.

I hope you enjoy the app as much as I did!

Thank you for your time.
