I felt fear at the Parthenon in Athens, Greece when I went there this past summer. Not because I’m scared of the spirits that could be lurking there but because I’m intimidated by it. It was completed in 432 BC which is incredible that it is still standing here today but that is exactly what scares me. All around Greece you can find historical sights and artifacts from over 2000 years back. This scares me because I don’t think that our generation will ever have anything still standing 2000+ years from now that will show who we were. When I went to Greece I didn’t suddenly know everyone who lived there in the past but I was able to see how incredible their people were and I fear that we won’t make an impact like that in our world. The Greeks have managed to make such a lasting impression in our society and I fear that all that will be remembered from our time will be the bad things that are happening currently in North America. I fear that we will never be able to make an impression on this earth and our whole society will be forgotten.

Foods Waste
Personally I try my best to not create any food waste or waste in general. When I am cooking I use as much of the food product as I can. I always save my food for leftovers and my family never has too much food in our fridge. Usually when I go out to eat I order food not knowing how big the portion is and when I receive it I am unpleasantly suprised when I see how much food I received. I find that because I’m so picky I tend to pick out the foods that I dont like in a dish and throw them out even though someone else would happily eat them. I also tend to give myself more food than I can finish which usually ends in everything I don’t end up eating being thrown in the compost bin. A way to cut down waste in my house is to give myself smaller portions of food when I am getting myself food and just grab more if I’m still hungry. I can also share dishes with friends or family if I go out to eat and order more than I am able to finish all by myself.
How do stereotypes affect people?
The movie The Help, directed by Tate Taylor, features a girl named Skeeter who aspires to be a writer. Skeeter decides to interview the black women in her town who have spent their whole lives caring for the white families in their community. She talks to the women about how they are treated not only as the help but also as members of the black community in a Caucasian heavy town. She learns how the women are affected by the stereotyping of their race such as having to use a separate bathroom because they are “dirty”. Skeeter then makes a book of her interviews and shows the people in the town and around the world that you shouldn’t stereotype people without understanding them first. The white people in the town also stereotyped a girl named Celia Foote who was stereotyped as being “white trash” because she came from Sugarditch. The white women assumed she was cheap and less classy just because of where she grew up. This made Ceclia feel as if she wasn’t good enough and she was ashamed of who she is. Humans have a great ability to be understanding of others but they also are very capable of stereotyping others just because they do not know them. This movie shows that stereotypes can make people feel ashamed for being who they are but with the help of community and friends you can overcome these stereotypes.
6 Kingdoms
Archaebacteria:
Euryarchaeota
Crenarchaeota
These organisms are in the archaebacteria kingdom because they are prokaryotic unicellular cells. Their cell walls contain uncommon lipids and help with digestion. These cells are heterotrophs and reproduce asexually.
Eubacteria:
Proteobacteria
Cyanobacteria
These organisms are part of the eubacteria kingdom because they are prokaryotic, unicellular cells. They are heterotrophs and they have peptidogolycan cell walls and produce asexually.
Protists:
Plasmodium Vivax
Naegleria Fowleri
These organisms are in the Protista kingdom because they are eukaryotic cells, they are both unicellular, heterotrophs, and reproduce asexually.
Fungi:
Yeast
Ascomycota
These organisms are in the fungi kingdoms because they are eukaryotic. They have chitin cell walls and are decomposers. These organisms are heterotrophs and get their food through absorption.
Animalia:
Hedgehog
Sugar Glider
These organisms are part of the animalia kingdom because they are eukaryotic and multicellular. Their cells have no cell walls which makes them animal cells and they are heterotrophs which means they need to eat food to survive.
Plantea:
Elephant-Foot Yam
Bok Choy
These organisms are a part of the plantea kingdom because they are eukaryotic and multicellular with cellulose cell walls. They are also autotroph which means they make their own food using basic energy sources such as sunlight and carbon dioxide.

Safety First
Fire
Never put water on a grease fire
To extinguish fire on someone’s clothes, wrap them in a fire blanket and have them roll on the floor

Run your hand under cold water when you get a burn
Use a wooden spoon instead of a metal spoon when using a pot on the stove
Chemicals
Don’t keep chemicals close to where you are cooking
Never mix household cleaners together

Always clean up spills right away
Always wear suitable footwear in the kitchen to avoid slips

Cut away from you when working with knives to avoid cuts
Cover any cuts with waterproof gloves or bandaids
Heavy Lifting
Lift with your legs to avoid injury
Know your limit, if something is too heavy ask for help
How to Prevent Food Poisoning
Don’t open cans that have dents or bulges
Wash your fruits and vegetables before working with them
Waste Management
Paper towels go in the compost bin
To avoid making unnecessary waste, double check your recipe before preparing ingredients
Personal Hygiene
Tie up hair before cooking
Always wash hands first
