Pathways to Theme One Pager Assignment

Posted in English 9 | 2 Comments »

This is my One-Pager on the Pathways to Theme assignment. The assignment was to read a children’s book and create a one-pager on it. The story I chose was Love You Forever by Robert Munsch!

Communication

I worked with others to develop ideas by asking the people in my table group for help. They would tell me an idea of theirs, then I would say a similar idea, but a bit modified. Bouncing off of each other’s ideas was a big help in coming up with the theme statements and questions.

Thinking

A challenging aspect of this assignment was coming up with a second theme statement. I had some ideas, but I wasn’t sure how to word them, or if they even worked as a theme statement. But after some thinking and consulting some friends, I was able to figure it out.

Personal and Social

A strategy I used to persevere was using my desire to do hobbies, and turning it into motivation to finish this assignment. When I was starting to create this one-pager, I wasn’t really in the mood for homework, and got distracted easily. But after thinking of playing video-games, drawing, and watching shows as more of a reward for when I finish my homework, I was able to focus and work more efficiently.
