Week 6 – math 10

POLYNOMIALS

We learned about the multiplication of polynomials this week.

I wrote down some rules to help you multiply polynomials quicker and easier.

1. Simple Binomials

2. Perfect Square Trinomial

3. Conjugates

We have some more examples of solving conjugates below:

I will post something new again next week!

Week 5 – math 10

POLYNOMIALS

We learned about polynomials and different methods to multiply two binomials.

Let’s go over some mathematical terms before we move on.

Now let’s try multiplying two binomials using the next four methods :

1. The algebra tile diagram

2. The area model

3. The distributive property

4. The FOIL method

<EXTRA>

More about the FOIL method :

I will update more next week.

Week 4 – math 10

TRIGONOMETRY

We learned about trigonometric ratios and the angle of elevation/depression.

Here we have an explanation about the sine, cosine, and tangent ratios according to the size of the angle.

The following notes are about the angle of elevation/depression.

I will update more next week!

Week 3 – math 10

TRIGONOMETRY

We learned trigonometry this week.

First, let’s go over right triangles and some of their rules.

It is important to go over definitions and basic facts.

Now that we know what right triangles are, we should now focus on

the sine, cosine and tangent ratios.

According to the SOH CAH TOA rule,

SOH – Sine equals opposite over hypotenuse

CAH – Cosine equals adjacent over hypotenuse

TOA – Tangent equals opposite over adjacent

I will upload more next week!

Week 2 – math 10

GETTING RID OF NEGATIVE EXPONENTS

We learned about negative exponents and what we could do to make them ‘happy’.

Let’s figure out how to get rid of negative exponents.

I’ve added an explanation of the evaluation below.

The following notes show some examples of the process of getting rid of the negative exponents.

I will update more next week!

Week 1 – math 10

THE REAL NUMBER SYSTEM

We learned about the real number system, which represents all the numbers on the number line.

I created a small diagram to help your understading of the topic.

The description below tells the definition of each group of numbers.

The following examples show which number goes into which category.

We will be learning more about these numbers in our next lesson.

I will update again next week!
