I interviewed Ahmed Al Lami through call, I got his contact through my dad as he is his real estate agent. I interviewed him because I want to be a real estate agent when I grow up, I’m passionate about this because money is limitless and I would get to be my own boss and choose my own clients. here’s his website.

Here’s how the interview went.

Can you explain your roles and responsibilities with your current position?

My role as a real estate agent is finding the most suitable property with the best price for the clients, answering the phones and emails about the property’s, acting on behalf of the seller, building trust between the me and the client, talking to people and patient with the clients.

What obstacles have you faced to get you where you are today?

It is difficult if when you are trying to present the buyer with something good and suitable for them, there aren’t many options. The second obstacle is the approval to the amount for the client they can qualify it for, so the qualified number the mortgage or the loan, they get it from the bank in order for them to buy a house. Because sometimes they can be qualified for, let’s say $1 million, majority of the house is now going for above that number, so it’s difficult to make the buyer match or to make them be Qualified for the amount of money they are required to secure for the property.

What advice would you pass onto someone interested in what you are doing?

I always say that if you have ambitions and you want to do good in your life and you don’t like your 9-5 job, real estate is a good place to be in. First of all money is limitless, however you need to put time and effort in your work that’s coming with it. You have to always look for the job, the job doesn’t come for you. You have to know the basics, you have to do the door knocking,  networking, open houses, talk to people, And all the knowledge, research, social media, and gadgets helps. Selling the house or draft a contract, that’s the easy part of the job. Finding the right client to work with is the challenge. You have to make work with the time you have, such as going out look about, handing business cards, talk to people, meeting with lawyers.

Why are you passionate about your job or role?

Because it matches with my personality, I like dealing with people, challenges, having a profession, whereas real estate is a very respectable profession, it’s got a license, money, we have the government body, the challenges can be stressful sometimes but again it’s a job that is very rewarding, you meet a lot of interesting people. The feeling when your helping people out to secure their real estate is one of the biggest goals in my life, and imagining that you are a part of that project that helps people feels very accomplishing which is priceless.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Freedom. Being my own boss, unlimited income, I want to work, i don’t want to slow down, it’s all up to me, I don’t have to report to anyone, I put my own hours and work with it, I choose my own hours. It’s all under the umbrella of freedom.

What are your likes and dislikes about your job?

Dealing with people all the time, the challenge aspects, your learning everyday, what I don’t like about my job is sometimes you can be doing the job and your spending a lot of your time by yourself so it’s not much of teamwork. The second thing that I dislike about my job is the stress that comes with trying to find the perfect property for the clients, and sometimes the clients could be quite of a challenge but that’s only the minor thing that comes with any other job. There’s no perfect environment for any job that you like.

Thank you so much Ahmed I learned a lot during that interview, now I’m even more determined about becoming a real estate agent.
