Tableau Novel – The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian

Exposition

The exposition of background information into a storey or narrative is known as narrative exposition. This information could include details on the setting, the backstories of the characters, previous narrative events, historical backdrop, and so on. In the literary world.

I chose this exposition because it introduces junior, his family such as his mom, dad, his dog, and his sister, his disabilities, how his brain is full of water or grease and how uneven his eyesight is and how people view Indians or poor people and people with disabilities. Like when the doctor thinks Indians have a higher pain tolerance. how people bully junior for being poor and for his disabilities, getting called names such as the r slur as an insult although he’s straight.

Initiating incident

A definition of an inciting incident an episode, plot point, or event that draws the reader into the storey is known as the inciting incident.

I chose the part where junior accidentally hit Mr. P in the face with a book junior was reading, this part is mentioned because he likes the class geometry. He even wanted to kiss the book and admitted that he’s a book kisser knowing that it was perverted. He was about to kiss the book but halfway he saw the authors name and found out it was his mom who wrote it Agnes Adam. Junior got angry as he realized the book was 30 years older than junior himself. As his hopes and dreams floated in a mushroom cloud, is at least what he said. As his anger grew stronger, he threw the book blindly and it accidentally hit Mr. P.  And of course, he got in trouble by the teacher and his disappointed family as he got suspension.

Rising action 1

One of the most important aspects of a plot, or storyline, is rising action. After the exposition (introduction) and before the climax, there is rising action (highest point of interest). Rising action introduces and develops the text’s main conflict. During the growing activity, minor disagreements may occur.

After Mr. P tells junior to go to Reardan telling junior that he doesn’t want the same thing happening to his sister which she went downhill, and stopped her education although she was hard working, she even stayed in the basement 23 hours a day. After that junior decides to go to reardan, a school full of white rich kids. He had a hard time telling rowdy about his transfer, it ended in a bad fight and junior ended up getting punched by rowdy while he was angry as he couldn’t control his emotion. While junior was walking out of school on his last day, a bunch of kids where laughing at him and staring at junior as he left the school.

Rising action 2

One of the most important aspects of a plot, or storyline, is rising action. After the exposition (introduction) and before the climax, there is rising action (highest point of interest). Rising action introduces and develops the text’s main conflict. During the growing activity, minor disagreements may occur.

Roger was bullying junior for his ethnicity and how he’s Indian and his disabilities calling him names and making fun of him because he’s poor. Junior punched rowdy as he got angry and couldn’t put up with all the bullying. everyone in that town has at least a little racism inside them. An aspect we used in this picture to make it look alive is showing junior punching roger as the people in the background are shocked

Rising action 3

One of the most important aspects of a plot, or storyline, is rising action. After the exposition (introduction) and before the climax, there is rising action (highest point of interest). Rising action introduces and develops the text’s main conflict. During the growing activity, minor disagreements may occur.

This is when roger finally accepts junior. He accepts junior because junior was brave enough to punch him. He finally accepts junior for who he is, his skin color his uniqueness and his disability. How we made this look somewhat alive is we used a photo of a 20-dollar bill and as rowdy was handing over money to junior by the toilet, junior was crying of gratefulness. The toilet on the ground also shows how junior felt like vomiting, that was also another aspect we used.

Climax

Climax means the most intense, exciting, or important point of something, a culmination or apex.

This photo is about the basketball game against the Rez. Everyone was going crazy and excited. How we made this alive was by taking a video of us jumping and screenshotted to the point where we jumped our highest to make it seem more alive.

Falling action

Falling action is what happens near the end of a story after the climax and resolution of the major conflict. The majority of literary and dramatic works (stories, novels, plays, movies) are built on action—characters doing things, typically pursuing things they want.

This is where when junior was sitting down feeling upset and depressed and just thinking. while juniors mom was speaking to him and comfort him. Then roger comes in worried about junior. How we made this seem more realistic was by having junior lean forward and have his hand over his head to make him look more depressed and upset while he’s thinking.

Conclusion

The definition of a conclusion is the last part of something, or an opinion reached after some thought. An example of conclusion is the final scene in a movie. An example of conclusion is the decision to purchase the red sedan after comparing it with the blue sports car.

the conclusion of the story is how junior and rowdy becoming friends again, shaking hands showing they have regained their friendship. The realism part is how we had junior and rowdy shake hands while looking each other in the eye. showing that they have resolved their problems and forgiving each other.
