How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities? Give at least example.

Ex.1

Having a great digital footprint would make a great impression and give a higher chance of getting hired when future employers look at my digital footprint.

Ex.2

Digital footprints also impact your real life reputation, having a bad digital footprint can strain friendships and relationships with family as well as impact your job.

Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.

1. Always being appropriate and kind.
2. Never share your password with others.
3. Never let anyone share anything about you without your permission.

What information did you learn that you would pass on to other student? How would you go about telling them?

I learned that once you post photos online it is hard to get rid of. You have to be careful of people who would try to defame your character online. Once something is up on the net, it may never be deleted. You would also have to be careful of others who would try to steal your identity or personal information on the internet.  When trying to educate others about their digital footprint, I would bring up and emphasize the THINK method that has been taught to me.

THINK stands for:

T= Is it true?

H= Is it helpful?

I= Is it inspiring?

N= Is it necessary?

K= Is it Kind?
