Week 17

This week we learned about elimination and substitution with systems of linear equations. I have been finding the substitution method a little difficult to understand, but I have been finding the Elimination part very easy. You start by making sure both the equations are written in standard form; ax+by=c, then you make sure there is a zero pair between the 2 equations (it doesn’t matter if it is x or y) and then you either add or subtract the equations. Once you have added or subtracted you then solve the equation to find either x or y. once you find the x or y, to find the other variable you plug in the one you found and then solve the equation to find the other point, then you have found both the x and y points where there is a system.
