Community Connections

  • I’m interviewed, Dr. Mohammad he’s a family doctor
  • I choose to interview this doctor because he speaks the same language I speak. Also, he’s my friend’s dad.
  • I have learned a lot from this interview I have learned if you want to do something you have to love it also I have learned I you really want to achieve your dream you have to be passionate and never give up.

the answers to the questions:

1.Why are you passionate about your job or role?
he’s loved medicine since he was a teenager.
he has a strong interest in saving people’s lives and he sees his job as him doing that.
2.What obstacles have you faced to
get you where you are today?
when he first arrived in Canada he had a plan to complete his exams, and even though he’s done them in his other country the qualifying exams in Canada required him to write them in a language he wasn’t familiar with. He was also having a difficult time adjusting financially and that caused stress which delayed his plan.
3.What advice would you pass on to someone interested in what
you are doing?
the most important thing is to be good at planning and to be able to overcome stress and move forward
4.Are you doing this job because you are passionate about it or you are doing it for living
He is passionate about his job. He believes that without being passionate in this job, you cannot succeed.
5.How hard did you work to achieve what you wanted
he worked really hard because he kind of had two journeys to becoming a doctor- one when he studied back home, and one in Canada when he studied in a different language. Also, when he was in Canada he had a family to take care of so he was working extra hard to keep up with all his responsibilities.

I’m sorry but I’m too busy for further contact, but there are many great ways to learn more about the path to becoming a doctor. For example, I connect does some great conferences that grade 11 and 12 students can attend. There are also many informative resources posted online for free.
