Consumable Waste
Most foods that I eat come in different types of packaging most of them come in Styrofoam, cardboard, or cans. Some foods that come in Styrofoam are meats such as ground beef, chicken, and sausages. Some foods that come in cardboard are chicken strips/nuggets, fries, and crackers. Some foods that come in cans are all types of soup and spaghetti sauce. I think chicken, ground beef and sausage come in Styrofoam because if the juice comes from the foods it will drip into the Styrofoam but if it were carboarded it would go right through. I think chicken strips and fries come in cardboard because the chicken strips and fries have more of themselves they ground beef and sausages so there is more room for them. Cardboard and Styrofoam are good for the customer because they can get rid of it easily, but it is negative to the customer because Styrofoam can be a mess sometimes. When we get rid of cardboard we re-use it for cereal boxes, paper towels, paperboards and sometimes paper and when we rid of Styrofoam it can be recycled so we use it for hard plastic. After 1-100 years, the packaging can decompose if it does not be recycled or turned into somethings such as plastic or cereal boxes. When the food does not get all eaten the food will decompose but if it cannot decompose it will get expired and then go bad. Some ways that we can limit our food waste are trying to use fewer containers like cardboard, Styrofoam and cans. Try to eat all the food that you cook so that none of the food goes to waste or goes bad. make sure that when you are recycling make sure that it goes in the right bin so that you don’t get cans with green waste or don’t get recycling with cans and bottles.
