  1. How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities? Give at least two examples.

This will be helpful in the future when you’re applying for a job, most companies would look for information about you online by using any search engines like Google and social media. We need to be careful on the things we post online because this can affect us if you posted something unsuitable that might affect their company and your chance to work for them.

You might lose an opportunity to be successful like getting a job and in school as well such as applying to universities if you did something inappropriate or unlikable online.

As for school you can get suspended or even worse getting expelled if you post something that’s not age inappropriate

2. Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.

  • Think before you post something online. Before putting something online, make sure you’re not going to hurt anyone’s feelings, be understanding, and make sure its appropriate.
  • Don’t post about every aspect in your life (privacy matters). It’s unnecessary to tell everyone about everything that’s going on with you.
  • The best thing to do is to overload Google with a long trail of good stuff
  • Never share your username and passwords with anyone. Change your password to ensure safety in your account to avoid hackers.

3. What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling telling them?

It’s a record or trail left by the things we do or are done with relation to you online. Before you post anything think about your online/real life reputation and image, opportunity with your future job/universities, our relationship with our friends and families, and tons of things that can affect you and the people around you. The best way we can do is to make sure on what we’re posting will not affect anything and will give a positive feedback to you. n n
