As a British official, I realized there are many alternatives to governing Quebec. I have chosen the policy of assimilation to ensure the colony is properly run. This decision I have made might come shocking to some; however, there are reasons for this peculiar order. First off, the French cannot be trusted, they have been evil beings from the beginning, and image the anger that is imbedded in them from the defeat that they have suffered. We are uncertain when if they are preparing an army or if they are making guns and ammunition as we speak. we know that there is still a number of French militia still out there and that they still have good relations with the natives. We did have other options, but they seemed to have flaws. For example, deportation would cost a lot of money. maintaining the status-quo could later on make the French people revolt against us, and this outcome could also happen if we do the isolation. Assimilation will make sure that no one tries to revolt against the British and that order will be brought to this land. As I have outlined above, I believe the best policy for governing Quebec is assimilation.  This will ensure that the colony will remain under British control and provide wealth for our glorious country.
