A time this summer that I had to use math was when I had a big stack of change in my backpack and wanted to get something from 7-11, I grabbed all the change I felt in my bag and laid it all on a coffee table in the store and started counting, separating each coin type, counting how many of each one there was, multiplying their value by however many of that coin there was and adding from there, I had about $3.50 which I used to buy a pack of gummies and two lollipops despite being short about 15 cents, luckily the cashiers are kind enough to let things that small go and I got to leave with my snacks.
