The person who I chose to interview for this assignment is Peter Scott, my grade 7 teacher and my personal favorite one at that, their roles/responsibilities include teaching and coaching middle school students, both necessary to prepare students for their future lives in high school or sports such as basketball.

The reason I chose to interview Mr. Scott is that I look up to how their role is like; as a teacher or coach, you are indirectly going to be a big part of how one of your students starts to change the way they go about life whether you know it or not, and that kind of influence that you are capable of having on a person is something that I strive for, to be able to make a difference in people’s lives.

In my case, Mr. Scott started to get me more focused on my academics and got me to start loving sports, which are both things that are still a big part of my life today. What I learned from getting to interview Mr. Scott is mainly the responsibilities of his role and I also got to learn more about his personal life and background that I didn’t know beforehand.

Overall, this interview and this assignment has brought a lot of new things to my attention such as how one of my role models does what they do, their personal journey that they’ve gone through to get to where they are right now, and how they’ve managed to keep this up for decades on end, I now feel plenty educated on how to work with people and open up opportunities for everybody including myself to do anything that they want from getting rid of bad habits to completely changing up somebody’s life or personality.
