Week 14 – Math 10 – Equations and Wonky Initials

In this project, I have learned to use the graphing calculator to create my initials on there. Where it was convenient for me, because it had allowed me to explore the skills of the linear equations and expand my learning as I would type my equation out to practice with my line paper.  However, I have faces some challenges are making the coordinates to apply on my point slope formula as that would help me to find the y- intercept of my equation to create my line. So, what was the steps that have finalize through my problem?

  1. I have look at my table to find two coordinates that correspond to a line segment.
  2. These coordinates would help to solve my slope to insert on my point slope formula. You may wonder how would I solve my slope through these points is subtracting from the input and output values. Like, m = y1-y2 over x1-x2 = the answer.
  3. This would lead my slope to choose a coordinate that corresponds perfectly to the equations. The perfect coordinate are best to choose the smallest value, as it wouldn’t take too much of my time for my day!
  4. In the process of my point slope formula is to distributive the values in the bracket. And using my algebra skills to cancel out the integer on the other side, which we must make the y variable as alone through dividing the coefficient.
  5. The answer that have given me would be able to convert as the slope y-intercept form.

The final step to see my equation that’s correct to insert my own equation on the calculator, when my line has connected to my points! The errors would have show up that doesn’t match to the points, then I would need to adjust my equations to get the perfect amount. That’s another reason why it had went challenging, because I may have put the wrong value through my process of my answer.

What have went easy for me is inputting the domain and range for my equation, where there’s a point of the line that doesn’t go further across the graph. It’s easy for me to understand that the more negative the number is lesser than the other number that compares to each other. And using the y-intercept formula has allow you to use the x variable as you are talking about the points for where it goes to connect a letter that represents my name!
