Part 2: Your information fluency proces

What questions did you need to research in order to create your post?
My questions that I needed to ask to research were

1) What chemicals are in the spray paint? 2) What type of paint is VOC in? And what does it cause? 3) Why people doesn’t like the existence of spray paint? And my partner did the other three research question.

2) What new or familiar digital tools did you try to use as you worked through this project? I was very familiar with the Google engine to answer my question, and to find other resources. I used the Citation Machine like EasyBib MLA format for my references. For my images, I used free pictures such as Pixel.com and Creative Commons Search.

3) What was the process you used to investigate the topic, and how did you verify and cite the information you found?
My teacher give us a note-taking sheet to write on, including some important details that I have found. This was a good trick to memorize some that I wrote, and an excellent way to organize. I made sure to put the notes in my own words to not contain plagiarism. I also created a Word document to keep track of the sources I used to research each question. Not only that, but I grabbed pictures that were related to my content, and made sure to make them cited as well using the source that Mr. Robinson put in his blog.

4) How did the process of completing this challenge go? What could you have done better?
The process of this challenge was a little difficult because I have to cite sources, and sometimes there would be advisements to pop up. We completed it with good amount of time management and effort. I was familiar with Sway, since I used it for my social studies class. And I was taught with new stuffs, such as sending me the sources with free pictures, was really helpful for me to complete this project with my partner. I wish I could have included more detail that were relevant to the question, and come up with other research question that could’ve been better than my recent ones.

  1. Great wonder post. I really like how you have found a question that is meaningful to you. You have some great sub-questions to lead you to address your essential question. You have done a great job sharing the digital tools you used and citing your sources including image sources. Good debrief on your product and process as well. Consider proof reading your text for typos and mistakes. So why do you think more hasn’t been done to make paints safe?

  2. They probably haven’t thought of this idea. Or they may think some paints that are made for art pieces aren’t so dangerous that it could painfully harm yourself. They don’t involve poison, but soft chemical water. It can be wash easily, unless if stained on a surface. This could be the reason why some kids use it for activity.
