Math 9H – Desmos Signature 2021

In Math 9 honours we recreated our name using an online database called demos as a part of our linear relations unit. Overall I am very happy with the way that my name turned out. I used a commonly known font seen on varsity jackets and used that font as a template for my name since it was a font that was very symmetrical and included all horizontal, vertical, and oblique lines. To add a bit of uniqueness, I coloured my name using inequalities. I chose the colour green as the base because it is my favourite colour, which I think added some of my personality to my name.

In total, I had 193 lines of equations including the filling in of the colours (inequalities). The easiest letter to draw were the E’s because they consisted of only vertical and horizontal lines. On the other hand, the most hardest and time-consuming letter was the S because it included many oblique lines. Because of this, it took more time in figuring out where 2 lines could match up.

I definitely think that this project was quite time-consuming, and the filing up of the letters played a big role in that because this was something I challenged myself with. But in the end, I think it made the final result look much more visually pleasing. To sum it up, although this project took some time, I really enjoyed this project because it gave me a better understanding of slopes and lines, as well as they all, relate together.
