Badminton intramural welcomes all students – Cutlass

The volunteer position I have found in Coquitlam are opportunities to support sports programs and various interests at the Pinetree Community Center. During my research, I discovered that the sports programs provide lessons in basketball and badminton, and other programs teach Wonders of Science, Little Chefs on the Run, and Theater Children’s stage. As a volunteer, my job is to assist the program staff, and interact with the children/participants and encourage their skills.

This volunteer opportunity will benefit me in the future in different ways. For instance, it will allow me to interact with others through physical learning. This will be crucial for me to remember when I want to come across as passionate and genuine in interactions, which is important for some job interviews and employment opportunities. In addition, I will also acquire some work experience and soft skills like: leadership, mentoring, and teamwork. Not only is volunteering work essential to improving my employability but it is also a significant contribution to the community.

I am passionate about volunteering in Pinetree Community Centre and assisting in the programs because I believe I will be good at it. On the other hand, I am someone who is interested in athletics such as badminton and learning interests like cooking. A challenge that I have is engaging with people, which is why I’m willing to learn from it. All I have to do to apply is visit the website, click “sign up,” and then complete the application.

The employement opportunity that I am researching is to work at Domino’s as a CSR (Customer Service Representative) and a pizza maker at Coquitlam. The job pays a good $15.00-$17.00 per hour. The job provides between $15.00 and $17.00 per hour. In this position, I will receive customer orders, handle the cash drawer, and provide customer service. Other duties include preparing the food, labelling boxes, cutting pizzas, preparing orders for delivery, and some tidying. Employees enjoy perks such as flexible schedules, competitive wages, free meals, and uniforms.

This position requires to be at least 14 years old and have reliable transportation. Other requirements include being well-spoken, having excellent math and cleaning skills, and speaking English fluently. In these qualifications, I am 14 years old, good at math/counting money, and can speak to people well. However, some helpful skills/qualities I possess include hard work, the ability to move quickly, multitasking, and the ability to be friendly.

This job will benefit my future by lending me an experience working at a busy environment. Also, by working at Domino’s will help me grow in my communication skills and increase my accountability. The first thing I should do is complete out my resume so that they can see how qualified I am to work there. Another thing I should do is practice working under pressure and make sure I can speak effectively. But, because I am so busy during the school year, I would love to do this as a summer job. To apply for this position, I can do so online. However, going to the workplace and delivering it in person is preferable.
