I think I have the best strengths in communication. Some ways I show that I’m listening carefully is branching out of my group to pay attention and I also tend to let them know you’re talking. An example of this is when we were playing basketball I would hold the ball and give you my full attention. A problem I had a while ago, was when I skipped p.e, and I acknowledge that it was a mistake. I communicated my feelings and how it wasn’t very responsible of me. Whenever I disagree with my friends, I’m the person who would try to talk it out and try to not cause a problem. An example of this is probably a bit ridiculous, but I remember having an argument about who’s partners are who’s in the dance unit. Since we’re all close in the friend group, nobody wants to be the one left out with no partner. What I do is I volunteer and say I’ll find a partner. Communication helps a ton with my physical learning because I may not be the most athletic person but by asking questions about how to do the activities helps me participate.
Another core competency I have strengths in is Personal Awareness and responsibility. I had a lot of learning goals like getting better at my fitness activities such as the run and curb jumps. I don’t really play any sports outside of school, so I try to work on this goal by running on the treadmill and using my jump rope. But in my last fitness test, I was disappointed by how I didn’t get any better at these areas. One thing I’m currently learning how to do is to be a team leader when im in groups because i like to be in charge. An example of this is when we did the dance challenge, I helped my group by making sure we don’t get distracted talking most of the time. So I would do this by suggesting a dance to change the topic. Whenever I’m feeling discouraged in class, I usually help myself by talking it out with my friends and sometimes it helps me by feeling a bit better.
