Political Spectrum- “1984” & Big Brother

A political spectrum is a diagram that shows and informs different political positions. There are four sections, top left being authoritarian left, top right being authoritarian right, bottom left being libertarian left, and bottom right being libertarian right. The difference between left and right politics is that the left side, has more ideologies such as freedom, and the right side has more authority. The difference between authoritarian and libertarian governments is that the libertarian is a democracy, and lets people choose who leads them, and authoritarian is more dictator-influenced, and have all the choices to do whatever. The government of Ingsoc and Big Brother falls at the top right corner of the authoritarian left, because they are both dictatorship governments, and don’t give people a lot of freedom.
