Midterm Self Assessment and Goal-Setting

Strength’s and weakness paragraph:

For the Atomic theory unit, my strength was Atoms, Ions and Isotopes and doing the Atomic Structure this was easier for me because it was just the basics. For the atomic theory unit, my weakness was the electron orbitals and drawing and counting them all out I found this hard because there was a lot of memorizing. My strength for the bonding unit was Polar vs Non-Polar molecules because it was really straightforward. My weakness for the bonding unit was VSEPR  because it was really confusing to tell which is which shape. My strength for The Mole unit is Metric Conversion because it was the easiest part. My weakness for The Mole unit is everything else.

Relations in Real Life

The event we choose was to fill up a water bottle to the top of the line, which was 16oz, then pour the water out and refill it back to 16oz. We collected the data by using the measuring line on the water bottle, and we also filmed it to see how long each event took.

It wouldn’t allow me to put in photos, so I attached them and the video to the team’s assignment.

Is the graph discrete or continuous?

The graph is a continuous line because time doesn’t stop.

 Is this Relation a Function?

No, the relation is not a function because some x values have more than one y value.

Is the graph Linear or Non-Linear?

The graph is non linear because the line doesn’t follow a single straight line it goes up down then up again.

Determine the rate of change between a minimum of 2 points.

(1 sec, 0 oz) and (6sec, 16 oz) the rate of change is 3.2 oz per second so the amount of water is increasing.

(7 sec, 16oz) and (9 sec, 0oz) the rate of change is -8 oz per seconds so the amount of water is decreasing.

Is your graph constant or does the rate change.

The rate in this graph changes because the water increased, decreased then increased again.
