Français 12 – Réflexion des compétences essentielles

1.) Réflexion de compétences essentielles (débat minoritaire)

Personally, the most challenging element of this debate project was the preperation. I realised that we would be put on the spot with questions going against our topic which we would have to counter without a script. Knowing this, we put ourselves in the audience’s shoes and came up with various questions and thoughtful answers for each. After practicing our responses and preparing for all the possibilities, I felt more confident and put together.

As a presenter, all the research and questions from the audience educated me on the different perspectives everyone can have which made me reflect on my own perspective. I realised it’s good to have a well-rounded opinion on a topic and be open to different views. My topic was about technology and how it’s beneficial but now I see both the negative and positive effects whereas before I was only concentrated on the positives.

For this project, we were given months to prepare and one thing I’m proud about is how wisely I used my time so that I wouldn’t rush and put in my all. For the actual presentation, I’m proud of the way I spoke clearly, made eye contact with the class and treated it as a real debate.
