  1. What is your job title? “I am a engineering manager for Hevvy pumps”
  2. What is your job description? “To manage the engineering department”

 

  1. What are the duties and tasks you perform at your job? Delegate tasks and assign work to people, help design industrial equipment. “My role is to Support sales, and all the internal departments within our manufacturing facility.”

 

  1. What qualifications do you have for this job.
  • What training? “On the job training to learn all the design aspects of my position including AutoCAD, 3D modeling and general pump design skills.”
  • What education? “I have had 2 years of post-secondary education from BCIT ‘s diploma program in Mechanical Design along with a degree from BCIT in their Technology management program.”
  • What experience? “I have 20 Plus years of industry experience.”
  1. skills and attributes and personal qualities? “This role requires individuals to be creative, innovative, detailed oriented, and have strong mathematical skills. This individual needs to be good at problem solving. Most of all, you need to be a team player.”

 

  • What are some of the things you like about the job? “Every day has new challenges that allows me to think, the company has excellent culture, and they have the best Christmas parties!”

 

  • What are some of the things you dislike about this job? “My job can be stressful at times when juggling high profile orders.”

 

 

  • How do you anticipate this job changing in the next 5 years or so? “I believe the responsibilities will not change, however, with the changes in technology new opportunities and challenges will be present.”

I don’t believe this job is for me. I enjoyed my time there, and it would be a great place to work.

But it is not my passion.

I got to experience what it is like to wake up and go to a job and what roles are necessary for a working business. When I get older, I plan to try and get a job that has to do with building things with my hands and a job helping people with mental problems.
