The Interview

  1. What is your job title?

My job title is an accountant that specializes in financial reporting. In formal terms, I am a, Chef functional officer (CFO) in accounting.

  1. What is your job description?

My job consists of auditing, financial reporting, and financial analysis. I work for industries such as mining, trading, construction, manufacturing, real estate, investment, and services.

 

  1. What are the duties or tasks to you do to preform your job?

The regular duties of my day to day job is to bookkeep for the industries that I work for. Which fundamentally means organizing the inflows and outflows of cash that comes into the company. Budgeting also occurs when you are an accountant. Budgeting in accounting is observing what these companies produced last year and predicting what they will produce this year.

 

What qualifications do you have for this job in the following areas:

Training: The training that I did was led a team of assistants, planned and made audit engagements and finalized them. Also, I developed organizational skills, developed the ability to talk to clients and industries, and prepared financial reports in only a little while.

Education: The education I have as an account is Chartered Professional Accountant, CPA, CGA BC, a study in the university of Damascus, Syria, BA in Business and Economics, and study in the New Hampshire Board of Accountancy.  

Experience: The experience I have as an accountant are producing annual financial statements and management dissection and analysis.

Skills and Attributes: The attributes that are applied in this job are problem solving, process improvement, bookkeeping, budgeting. 

What are some things you like about this job?

What I like about accounting is that you can make sense of numbers, help industries and companies make good business dictions with their money by using the information I provide. I like when these industries take my business guidance and advice. 

 

What are some things you dislike about this job?

Some things I dislike about accounting are the pressure to meet deadlines and having bad back pain because of sitting for long hours.

 

How do you anticipate this job changing in the next 5 years or so?

Accounting will be much harder in the next upcoming years. This is because of the new regulations that will be put known as accounting standards. Not to mention that the economy is rising and money is losing its value.

Other Questions:

Do you think your education and training made your knowledge in business and accounting greater?

Without my education and training I would not have been able to do the things I like most about my job. I would not have been able to fully understand numbers, budgeting, etc.

How many years put together did you have to study for? (Post secondary)

I did 4 years of university and then qualifying to be a member of the professional association; Chartered Professional Accountant, CPA, CGA for 2 years. Therefore, around 6 years of education post secondary.

Give three reasons why you would like this job.

  • I would like accounting because my organizing skills are excellent.
  • I would like accounting because I am outstanding at communication whether that’s with clients or companies.
  • I would like accounting because in some fields of accounting you may work from home.

 

 

Give three reasons why you would dislike this job.

  • I would dislike accounting because in your years of study there would be a lot of mathematics.
  • I would dislike accounting because working with many companies seems difficult in order for you to mange all of them.
  • I would dislike accounting because it seems complicated and dry because of the numbers.

Is this job for you why or why not?

Who knows what the future holds, I do not think this job is awful nether do I think it is fascinating. When I was little, I wanted to be an accountant just like my dad, however I did not know how his job worked. Now that I know, I am not captivated by it because I know there are other professions that intrigue me even more. Though, I do not know what career path I will follow, I think accounting can be an option.

Explain the value of TOKTW experience in relation to your ideas about your post secondary.

The value of TOKTW experience is very important for us to see many different careers that interest us in the future. My plans for post secondary are to go to an outstanding university and get a degree in law or medicine. However, these are the things I am interested in at the moment. It may change but it will always be university and then travel, work, etc.
