“Sugar Falls” is about a student who was assigned an assignment about Indigenous people, and went to Kokum for some help. Kokum told the student how she was treated and how she overcame getting oppressed and abused by having courage and resilience.  The cloud is all about the important stuff in the graphic novel and the qualities Kokum had, to overcome this obstacle and be a very strong woman. The author wanted to describe what indigenous people had to go through in order to see a brighter future at the end of the tunnel.
