Week 1 in Precalc 11 – (Radicals)

In this week, I learned about Radicals.

I struggled to understand this part for 4 days. That`s why I choose this one.

At first, I didn`t understand Radicals and I didn`t get answer. So, I tried to read explain part in book. After read this, I understood everthing.

Anyway, I explain what I learn about Radicals.

\sqrt{30},\sqrt[3]{27},\sqrt[5]{3125},\sqrt[4]{81}

These are example of Radicals. In fact, anything looks like this form, is called a Radical.

\sqrt[n]{x}

n is called the index. and x is called radicand and √ is called the radical sign. In number like √30 the index is 2.

I try to answer the question page 14 question 12.

First, I thought radicand is 18.

Next, I remembered when index is not written in the radical, as in square root, it is assumed to be 2.

I got answer ! Answer is D.

I used what I learned about Radicals and I solved answer !
