Political spectrum is a measure and classification of political views. There are four categories that separate into two perpendicular lines, horizontal line – left and right, vertical line – authoritarian, and libertarian. Left wing states liberal views which support reforms and revolution. Right wing represents conservative views which means they don’t want to change anything and leave it the same. Libertarian government supports freedom while authoritarian government limits freedom of its citizens. Ingsoc is definitely in the upper section of the chart. Finding out what Ingsoc stands for, helps with understanding that it’s closer to the left on the spectrum. So, with all the information I think Ingsoc is in the red section.
