Math 10 week 9

On week 9 of math 10 we’ve learned x- and y- intercepts. In our example we have to determine x- and y- intercepts of the equation.

At first let’s determine x, for that we have to imagine that y is 0. So our equation will look this way: 4x-2*0+16=0. -2*0=0 so we just solve: 4x+16=0. And we get answer of -4. x is always first so we would write coordinate like this: (-4;0)

When we are solving for y we have to imagine that x is 0. 4*0=0 so our equation will look like this: -2y+16=0. We get that y is 8. In the coordinate y is always second so we would write it this way: (0;8)
