Week 3- Absolute Value of a Real Number

This week in math I learned about the absolute value of a real number.

Absolute Value of a Real Number is defined as the principal square root of a square of a number or \sqrt{5^2}.

In other words Absolute Value of a real number is, the distance of from zero t0 a number on the number line, regardless of direction.

The symbol for absolute value is |x|.

The absolute value can never be negative, |-5|= 5.
