i think my group was able to split up the work evenly. I do think we should’ve used some more time with some parts as it was a bit rushed, but overall i think we were able to complete this project well and was also well organized.

Modifiers are words in a sentence or phrase that describe something. Modifiers change or modify the subject of the sentence. An example of a modifier is in the phrase “the big dog”. The modifier in this phrase is the word “big”, and the word “dog” is the subject. So instead of the subject just being a dog, the modifier changes the subject of the sentence from “the dog” to “the big dog”. Modifiers must be placed close to the word they are describing or else they will become a dangling or a misplaced modifier.
Misplaced modifiers are when the subject and modifier (or modifiers) are placed too far apart in a sentence. An example of this is, “I was eating pizza with my friend that was cheese flavored”. In this sentence the subject is “pizza”, and the modifier is “cheese flavored”. This sentence is not grammatically correct because it sounds like its saying that the friend was cheese flavored, instead of the pizza. Although it’s implied that the pizza is cheese flavored and not the friend, it still doesn’t make sense. To fix a misplaced modifier you may just need to rearrange the order of the words. “I was eating cheese flavored pizza with my friend”, is the correct way to fix this sentence. A dangling modifier is when you have a modifier in a sentence, but no subject is clearly stated in the sentence. For example, the phrase “blue and clear, the women looked over the lake” has a dangling modifier. The words “blue” and “clear” are the modifiers, and the lake is meant to be the subject. This sentence is not correct because although we just assume the women is looking over the blue and clear lake, it is not stated in the sentence. To fix dangling modifiers, some words may need to be added or the sentence may need to be rearranged. “The women looked over the lake that was blue and clear”, is a correct way to fix this sentence.

He was trapping and hunting in the wilderness.
I think the reader found out when Dave wasn’t going to make it to the cabin since his hands and feet were frozen.

Why are the boys so upset at the idea of the girls carrying the water bucket?
I think the boys are upset because when they carry the water bucket it gives them power and they feel strong and when the girls did that they took it away from them.

The boys don’t let the girls play in their softball game and then Alma’s cousin tried talking her into not wanting to carry the water bucket.

The person who is telling the story is Alma’s seatmate. Alma’s seatmate thinks Ms. Ralston doesn’t know what the situation is between the 2 groups and doesn’t know what is going on.

The setting in this story is an old classroom that is by a railroad station. They live in Ontario because they talk about the Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey team. The setting intensifies the conflict by it being an old place and having to use the fact that they need a bucket of water to be the centre of the story. This is one of 2 conflicts (Person vs Person or Person vs Society) Person vs Person, there is an argument between the girls and the boys about who gets to carry the water bucket. Person vs Society the girls try to show that they can do anything that guys can do.

The protagonist is a girl named Alma. I know this because she was the only one who asked and was wanting to know about why the girls don’t carry the water bucket.

On that Friday everything changed just because of one simple question that Alma had the courage to ask the teacher. This changed the story and now girls and boys have the same power and equality. In the last paragraph the teacher hit the ball out of sight and that proved that girls could do anything guys could the same or even better. This had a huge impact so it led to her telling Alma and Joyce they could get the water. The message of the story is that girls can be just as strong as boys.

gender equality has been a discussed topic for ages. In my opinion i think woman have it harder than men, and here is why. let’s start off with forced marriage, it’s not such a common thing nowadays but it used to be. Now i’m sure that you know what forced marriage is but you may not know much information on it so i will give you some more information on this. let’s start off with how this was never the girls choice, in an article i read it was saying how the mens family would pay the women’s parents so that they could have their daughter marry the mens family’s son. Now i find that very shocking, i knew forced marriage was always a thing but i never knew that this is what they would do and to add on to that the women’s parents would tell their daughter that they could finally study at a better university and move to a better country like Canada and sometimes this was true and sometimes it wasn’t. the next topic i will talk about is uneven education, in a different article i read it was talking about how still to this day education for men and women are still uneven which means men are still getting more education than women. in my opinion i strongly think that by this day the education should have been even by now and i find this shocking too since it has been many years with this problem and it still hasn’t been fixed. for my last topic will be about lack of employment equality, in the same topic i read about for the uneven education i also read about uneven jobs. It was saying how only 6 countries in the world give woman the same work rights as men and the same pay. once again i had thought that by now it would all be equal but clearly it still isn’t which when you think about it really isn’t fair. Imagine a single mother working the same high paying job as a man but the man still makes more money, it really is not fair especially when the mother is trying so hard to give her kids a happy and easy life. in conclusion i think that women still have it harder than men and nothing is equal yet even tho it should be.
