Math 10 – week 11 – identifying domain and range

Domain and range is the distance in a graph that is used between walls. (X or Y)

Domain means the x-axis and Range means the y-axis

It is important to be able to identify domain and range because it will help in the future pursuing mathematics

to find domain you need to find the most left point and the most right point

Domain of a Graph

for this example, the furthest left point is -4 and the furthest right point is 6

when writing domain we write it with variables:

-4 <͟   x <͟   6

*There is also a line underneath the inequality sign because the dot on the graph is black so we include the number where the point is

*we don’t count the numbers going up or down only on the x-axis, that is for Ramge

Domain of a Graph

for Range we count the lowest point and the highest point

for this example the lowest is -4 and the highest is 6 the inequality will be written as:

-4 <͟   x <͟   6
