Below here are my answers to my reflection questions:

  • What questions did you need to research in order to create your sway?

In order to create my Sway I needed to research the following questions:

  1. What is the Lyell Island conflict?
  2. What were the key factors that led up-to the Lyell Island conflict?
  3. Who were the people involved in this conflict and what were their respective views?
  4. What were the environmental concerns related with the development plans on Lyell Island?
  5. How did the Haida nation feel about the development plans?
  • What new or familiar digital tools did you try to use as you worked through this project?

I utilized a variety of different digital throughout this project. One familiar tool that I used was Gale Engage which I’ve progressively gotten better at using. A new tool I tried out for the first time was Citation machine which I found very helpful for my citation process. Although we used Pexels for our images, we ultimately found it a little hard to use.

  • What was the process you used to investigate the topic and how did you verify and cite the information you found?

Firstly, in our shared document, that holds of our information and etc, we put in multiple reliable sources and from there we gathered information to answer our guided research questions. I cross-referenced our information to make sure there were no mistakes and then we put our information into the Sway. Using our information document where we put our sources, we were able to easily cite our sources using APA formatting.

  • How did the process of completing this challenge go? What could you have done better?

The process of completing this challenge from my perspective was very rushed and I could have managed my time more efficiently by setting clear deadlines and prioritizing all of my tasks effectively. This would have made things run more smoothly so we would not have to rush at the end.
